Housing provision in Slovenia – A social science survey on the situation and trends
Housing policy is a public intervention in the housing sector, aimed at promoting economic development, preserving the population, and ensuring a quality living environment. In Slovenia, housing provision is the responsibility of national housing policies, following Article 78 of the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia. According to this article, the state strives to guarantee every citizen the right to suitable housing. Adequate housing enables people to remain healthy and independent, actively participating in society. The last comprehensive survey analysis of housing provision in Slovenia was conducted in 2005. Since then, housing provision has changed significantly, and the needs and situation of households have also evolved. The purpose of the project is, therefore, to conduct a comprehensive analysis of housing provision in Slovenia and gain insight into the resources, needs, preferences, and behavior of households in this area.
