In Slovenia, the private rental market remains insufficiently researched despite playing an important role in supplementing housing supply, particularly in larger urban centres. The official Real Estate Market Records (hereinafter: ETN) record rental transactions; however, it is unclear what proportion of dwellings rented on the market is actually captured in these records. It is also unclear to what extent the data recorded in ETN correspond to or differ from advertised rental housing data.

 

The aim of the project is therefore to prepare: (a) an analysis of conditions in the private rental market in those urban centres where the rental market is largest and most developed; and (b) a comparison between the officially collected ETN data and the data gathered through an analysis of the private rental market based on advertised rental dwellings.
